Yesterday i decided to shoot something for my portfolio. I have recently been shooting a load of strong fashion work but needed to do a beauty shoot in studio with beautiful light.

I called Billie from LMM - life model management and arranged a shoot with Taz. Taz is a Scottish model that arrived in dubai 3 months ago and is leaving tomorrow, so lucky I managed to shoot her before she left. We shot around 6 looks . Hair and makeup by Dennie Pasion. I'll be uploading the retouched images in a few days.

DIE ANTWOORD - an awesome rap/rave group

One of my favourite bands at the moment is Cape Town 's Die Antwoord ( The answer )  .  Started in 2008 and consisting of 3 members - Ninja ( Watkin Tudor Jones ) , Yo-landi Vi$$er and DJ Hi-tek.

Ninja is known for adopting different stage personas. In the case of Die Antwoord his persona is Ninja: a aggressive character who is very different from his previous incarnations. When asked whether Ninja was a character he said, "Ninja is, how can I say, like Superman is to Clark Kent. The only difference is, I don't take off this fokken Superman suit."

Die Antwoord performs music which incorporates many ZEF elements and references. Zef is a South African slang term that describes a unique South African style which is modern and trashy and also includes out-of-date, discarded cultural and style elements

Publish your own book with Apple

While browsing the internet this morning , i came across a fucking awesome article from Apple.
Me , being a massive Apple supporter had to read this article about apple helping your publish your own E-BOOK. Dreams of publishing a book usually go out the window as soon as you get a few quotes from printing companies but with Apple you can live your dream and publish books and sell them online !

In March this year i traveled over to Cape Town to work on a few fashion shoots for my book.
Yes i know it was in March and you ask why im only posting backstage now ..? well .. i was busy !
I still am . The reason for working on my book is because Im heading over to LA in 3 weeks to find myself a photographers agent. I have no choice but to get one otherwise i will be stuck in Dubai longer than necessary . Its hot .. its nasty and its fucking sweaty here in Dubai during summer and its time to get out.

My paris Hilton shoot. Unfortunately being a huge celeb shoot for harpers bazaar mag I am unable to attach any shots from the shoot. The only image I can upload is this one. My finger wrapped in gaffer tape a creative piece by candy kennedy. Today was crazy. I was up at 2 am and out the door at 3 to fetch my crew for my first shoot of the day for the Daily Mail UK . Working with Dennie pasion, Gemma model and sinead o Connor ( yes it's a strange name to have) the magazines fashion organizer. Reese Cartwright was my assistant and entertainer for the day. Reese is always amazed that everytime I introduce him I immediately tell people he is allergic to nuts and can't eat peanut butter I find it completely ironic and gives me a good laugh everytime I tell someone! Unfortunately I don't think I have many backstage shots of this shoot because mark wasn't around to shoot the backstage because he was busy setting up the lighting for the Paris Hilton shoot so as I arrived I could start shooting. But what really happened is that I arrived and we waited 3.5 hours for her to arrive. Being Paris Hilton is a busy busy life. Straight after our shooting she had 2-3 other PR appointments. The shoot is for Harpers Bazaar July/August issue so I will be uploading all the backstage and fashion shots on publication.

 After 24 hours of traveling from South of France to Dubai via taxi, train, another taxi, a flight , a bus, another flight and finally a taxi to our apartment we were finally home. We were slightly delayed at the airport because our luggage missed the flight ( this seems to be a normal occurance ) and we had to fill out a few forms to insure delivery of our bags . 5 am ... we had 2 hours to sleep before having to wake up and head over to OKKU in the Monarch Hotel for the Estee Lauder photoshoot. We worked with Blair Patterson - Estee Lauder New Yorks Brand makeup artist . Thats the great thing about being a photographer , you get to meet people from all around the world. We shot with model genevieve from Bareface dubai. The shoot came out great and will be uploading the retouched beauty shots in a few days.
